The immediate future of Atomic Force is uncertain after the dual Gr1 Winner was found to be a "bit scratchy" after trackwork late last week. With a "no risks" approach being taken with the valuable sprinter, he was immediately transported to Agnes Banks Vet Hospital under the care of leading veterinarian Dr Christine Smith for a full evaluation.
The full veterinary inspection revealed minor inflammation to a foreleg and the prognosis is very good for a successful return to racing with a short let-up.
This break in training will most likely scuttle plans for being ready for Singapore however will have him fit and well to follow a similar programme which he followed last preparation with a possible view of returning to NZ to defend our Railway Stakes title as well.
The good news is that he has not suffered any career threatening issues and the horse will back in work soon. Singapore is not ruled out yet but the next 7 days will determine what we do with him.
