Jason Deamer

JASON DEAMER – Dynamic Syndications Newcastle Based Trainer.

Having been a successful jockey with over 100 winning rides in a short period before becoming too heavy to continue his passion as a jockey, Newcastle based trainer Jason Deamer at the conclusion of the 2018-19 Racing Season has been a successful trainer for 17 seasons.

Jason is a third-generation horseman. It was in his DNA that he would follow in the footsteps of his father John and Grandfather Carl who were both jockeys in their youth and then successful trainers.

Jason was a successful apprentice from the age of 15.

He spent most of his apprenticeship with his father John at Newcastle before moving to Jack and Allan Denham at Rosehill gaining greater exposure and experience.

After going through a growth spurt at 18 which restricted opportunities in town as his weight increased, Jason returned to Newcastle and began riding trackwork for Newcastle’s Max Lees.

Deamer forged an early association with prominent Hunter Valley based owner David Throsby who encouraged Jason to apply for his trainers’ license.

In 2003 David offered Jason the opportunity to train 2002 Magic Millions winning filly, Lovely Jubly.

Jason prepared Lovely Jubly to finish runner-up in the Group 1 STC Coolmore Classic at Rosehill to Bollinger.

Jason Deamer’s experiences with Jack and Allan Denham, Max Lees and a kick start from David Throsby gave Jason valuable insights to commence a successful career as a trainer.

Inspired by skills and tricks of the trade he absorbed from these elite horsemen, he turned this education into a valuable resource and this helped to polish Jason into a quality horseman.

Jason still rides trackwork daily, giving him a valuable insight as to the progress and fitness levels of each horse in his care. This contributes a major part of his success as a trainer.

Jason is a dedicated horseman and is appreciated as quality trainer and important member within the Dynamic Syndications Team.

Jason offers our owners a perfect opportunity to continue racing horses that may be struggling with the city "sausage factory" approach.

Also horses that hit their "glass ceiling" and who are of provincial standard, it gives us an opportunity to keep them in training but reducing the daily costs significantly.

Also horses that we consider of provincial class to mid-week class, it gives us the opportunity to attack some country class races that are too far away from city stables. With the prizemoney on offer and the BOBS Bonus monies available, it can be very lucrative to travel horses to weaker grades to win races for their owners.

We also support Jason with yearlings as well, buying him a yearling or two each year to polish up for us.

In addition, with Jason at Newcastle, we can still target Brisbane metro races as the horses don't travel as long on the back of the float up and down the highway.
