Dynamic Syndications have two promising 2yo’s NO IFS OR BUTS (Gerald Ryan) and REPARTEE (Peter Moody) engaged at Randwick on Saturday.
NO IFS OR BUTS
NO IFS OR BUTS will compete in race 2. He is number 5 and drawn barrier 1 in a 9 horse field. The son of NOT A SINGLE DOUBT is from the Stakes Winning mare SUTTON REVIEW. The mare won 4 races, 2 at 2, from 1200m to 1600m and was a Stakes Winner at 1400m.
SUTTON REVIEW - dam of NO IFS OR BUTS wins easily at Royal Randwick
Trained by Gerald Ryan, the gelding has continued to improve this preparation and a forward showing in this event is anticipated. NO IFS OR BUTS had two trials the first was an easy and encouraging placing at Rosehill over 900m on 14 May before trialling again over 900m on 27 May which he was more forward and won that trial well.
At his first assignment he went to Gosford on 6 June over 1000m on a Slow track where he finished second. That run was full of merit considering he bungled the start and settled well back in the field whilst the winner lead all the way and also had a 4.0kg pull in the weights on a track that showed significant bias to leaders on the day.
He has trained on well since that first race start and up to the 1200m will suit him far better as he appears that he will make into a nice 1400m horse with a few runs.
The
“theater of the horse” promises to be an exciting venue on Saturday when the stunning looking colt built in the mould of Apache Cat parades. NO IFS OR BUTS is owned by a Syndicate of 20 ladies and it’s our understanding that many will be on hand with their partners and friends to see their boy run.
We wish these ladies the best of luck as they live the dream of racehorse ownership and the excitement of having a horse competing at Randwick on a Saturday.

Good Luck Girls !
In race 3 on the programme we will see for the first time in Sydney the promising 2yo filly
REPARTEE. The daughter of leading first crop sire NORTHERN METEOR is from the mare COMEDY CLUB. The mare was a winner at 1200m and is a half sister to the good sprinting stakes winner BLEVEEKA. This is the immediate family of our 2yo Blue Diamond Winner REWARD FOR EFFORT and this year’s Golden Slipper Winner OVERREACH.
REPARTEE wins easily on debut
The Peter Moody trained filly has always shown a lot to the connections. She was set to race earlier in the year but shin soreness prevented her getting to the races. This time in the filly has trialled well winning a trial at Cranbourne on 13 May before stepping out for confidence building win on debut at Ballarat on a Heavy track.
Peter Moody had no hesitation to putting the filly on the truck and come to Sydney to run for the good prizemoney and importantly accessing the BOBS Bonuses as well. The filly arrived at Rosehill on 6 June and has settled in well. Her work on Tuesday leading into this race was strong suggesting the filly has continued to improve.
However it is a tough assignment for an inexperienced filly. It is a solid field and Repartee is not well suited under set weight conditions but she does give everyone the vibe she is a filly on the way up so connections are happy to give her the chance.
The obvious queries are her first go in the opposite direction having been trained the Melbourne way and also still a lack of experience against some of these fillies.
The track is rated heavy which we would have preferred dead to slow because even though she got the job done last time, she did give the impression she will appreciate firmer. However there is a big difference in the quality of surface from a Ballarat bog to a Heavy surface at Royal Randwick
Considering these factors, we still feel she has the ability to perform very well here and be very competitive but supporters still should be a fraction cautious. Whatever she does here, we know we have a very promising filly.
Good luck to our owners of Repartee !
