SIGNIFICANT RULE was facing the starter for just the third time in his career having been runner-up at both his previous starts by a half-head on debut and by a nose when resuming over 1200m on 10/6 at Gosford. On Saturday at Newcastle, SIGNIFICANT RULE was 2nd-up and at 1400m in Race 4, a Maiden Plate. A trip that suited far better that the two 1200m, the GAI WATERHOUSE and Adrian Bott trained SIGNIFICANT RULE displayed the stable’s “BONE and MUSCLE” when he blew away his peers with a sensational Win in a daring “catch me if you can” style run that demoralised those who were chasing.

It has been three (3) new Stakes Winners in five days for sensational racehorse and now, highly successful young sire AMERICAN PHAROAH and from his 126 Winners to date he has produced 34 Black Type horses – that’s a staggering 27% Black Type horses to Winners, with 19 (15%) Stakes Winners and 15 Stakes Placegetters (12%), whilst he is at 13% Black Type horses to Runners. 27% Black Type performers to Winners and 13% Black Type horses to Runners is freakish statistic and is unheard of from any young sire.

The $151,000 Melair Stakes LR (1700m) at Santa Anita on Saturday was won by the tough, long striding, highly promising 3yo filly named FI FI PHAROAH (3f American Pharoah x My Fiona, by Ghostzapper). She becomes the 17th Stakes-Winner from 125 Individual Winners for American Pharoah and she is one of 33 Stakes Horses by the impressive young sire, who returns to Australia this Spring to stand at Coolmore Stud at $49,500.

Newgate Farm stallion DEEP FIELD sire of 183 Individual Winners, produced his 10th Stakes-Winner on Sunday, this time at Sha Tin when his talented four-year-old SKY FIELD scored a dominant win in the Gr3 Premier Cup (1400m). The impressive young DEEP FIELD from just three crops of racing age, has produced 25 Stakes Horses being 10 Stakes Winners and 15 Stakes Placegetters amongst his Winners.
