The colt repaid the faith of his connections on debut at Rosehill, when stepping out for experience and education as the 1100m trip was well short of what he's bred to do, DEEP CHILL lived up to his pedigree finishing a strong 3rd to McLaren ($380,000) & Spring Loaded ($750,000) in the Gr3 Canonbury Stakes 2yo C&G

An odds-on favourite off the back of 2 barrier trial wins, McLaren looked professional on debut in Saturday's Gr3 Canonbury Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill. The son of Exceed And Excel was just off the pace before zooming at the 300m to hold the determined $750,000 Redoute's Choice colt Spring Loaded by 3/4 of a length with the $120,000 Dynamic Syndications purchased colt Deep Chill (by Wandjina) 1.75 lens back in third.
