With both Saturday’s ATC Derby Winner and Runner-Up, DYNAMIC SYNDICATIONS have our DNA woven into the quinella of this time-honoured race. Team Dynamic were involved with the purchase and then raced both the (a) Dam of the Winner as well as (b) the Sire of the Runner-up. We had a genuine affinity with and achieved great satisfaction from the result of this year’s ATC Derby as QUICK THINKER crossed the line ahead of ZEBROWSKI in second place.

Dynamic Syndication 4yo mare LOCHITA (LONHRO x INCHITA) recorded her 3rd Win in 7 starts when she was dominant in the Thompson Motor Body Builders Benchmark 58 Handicap over 1600m on a glue like Heavy 8 surface at Taree on Saturday. LOCHITA is in the care of top young Newcastle Trainer JASON DEAMER and was ridden by leading apprentice Samantha Clenton.

Confession time - after all these years as racing industry participants, until last Saturday we had never watched the Channel 7 free-to-air broadcast of the Races. Why? Well the answer is simple. As an industry participant, most Saturday’s we are at the races, and when we are not trackside we need to have Foxtel so we can watch the races on Sky Channel or Racing.com and both these dedicated Racing Channels do an excellent job as a dedicated industry resource, showing wall-to-wall racing seven days a week.

So, imagine how upbeat we are to hear from Shane Rose that our latest two yearlings to complete his breaking-in and early education phases are both “outstanding athletes and he can’t split them.” Then he offers us a report card stating that they were “both rated 9.5 out of 10.”

In 2019 the Golden Slipper Carnival could have been renamed the “Chris Waller and James Cummings Show” as that duo dominated the carnival winning 7 of the 8 Group 1 race between them, but in 2020 the wheel turned significantly and it was all about Gai and Adrian. Of the 8 Group 1 races run at the Golden Slipper carnival at Rosehill Waterhouse-Bott were dominant with their 3 wins while won a Gr1 race went to John Thompson, David Pfieffer , William Haggas, Richard Litt and Chris Waller.

The Bendigo standalone meeting again proved a goldmine for popular young Mornington trainer MATT LAURIE after RIDDLE ME THAT claimed Saturday’s $150,000 feature in the Listed Bendigo Guineas (1400m). Riddle Me That is the fourth stakes-winner for Newgate Farm’s boom young sire DEEP FIELD, who is the Leading Sire of both the Australian three-year-old winners this season as well as being the Leading Second crop sire by winners.

On Sky Thoroughbred Central, Greg Radley and Ray Thomas interviewed Racing NSW CEO Peter V’Landys who “Guaranteed” racing would continue in NSW for all participants and of most importance from an racehorse owners perspective, should the government force racing into a temporary shutdown, V’Landys stated that Racing NSW, would inject a cash splash and would “pay” (not the Racehorse Owners) - to keep horses in training, and this money will come from the “Future Fund” established for times of crisis, such as we are currently seeing through the pandemic.

KING OF THE KIDS is a title well-earned by the Dynamic CIARON MAHER / DAVID EUSTACE Racing Stables operation this season, after their training partnership produced a winning double on Saturday recording their 22nd 2-Year-Old Race Win. On Saturday it started at Rosehill when 2yo colt HOLYFIELD (I Am Invincible x Hurtle Myrtle) took out the Gr3 Schweppervescence Stakes over 1400m notching up the stables 21st 2YO Race Win. Then 90 minutes later, focus was on the 2yo event at Wyong and again the stables supplied the winner when MAJOR MURPHY saluted over 1200m.
