Very few horses can win a Group 1 race at their second start, but miraculous filly Tenebrism did just that. Brilliant grey dual Group 1 winning sprinter Caravaggio (USA) shuttled for just one season to Coolmore Australia, and that crop of foals are two-year-olds this season, their sire making news when posting his first Group 1 winner. Talented filly Tenebrism was the sire’s first winner when she scored on debut at Naas back in March and she is now his first Group 1 winner after taking out the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes (1200m) at Newmarket.

The first Queensland two-year-old race of the season was run on Saturday at Toowoomba and first season sires were always predicted to play a big role in the $75,000 Pat O'Shea Plate (1000m) and so it played out, with Newgate Farm’s MENARI siring highly promising filly Menari Magic to beat Mishani Warfare, a gelding by Aquis Farm’s The Mission.

Two headline American Pharoah three-year-old colts made bold statements for their champion young sire over the past couple of days. On Saturday at Rosehill, HEAD OF STATE became the fourth stakes winner this calendar month, and the 23rd stakes-winner worldwide among 155 winners including another 14 stakes placegetters for champion racehorse and now champion young sire AMERICAN PHAROAH. Most importantly, HEAD OF STATE is the sire’s first Southern Hemisphere Stakes Winner from just a small number of runners to date from his first crop in Australia.

Dynamic Syndications and our terrific Newcastle trainer JASON DEAMER have combined for another racetrack win. On Friday at Scone, Jason Deamer presented his latest addition to his stable, our 4yo mare TOO MUCH CLASS (Smart Missile x Skyline Blush) in excellent condition and our mare had the services of Lee Magorrian to guide her around the 1600m on a good 4 surface to claim Race 1 on the programme, the Arrowfield Stud, Class 2 Handicap.

Race 9 at Rosehill on Saturday is the Gr3 Gloaming Stakes 1800m for 3yo’s at Set Weights and the Dynamic / Richard Freedman Team have a genuine opportunity to go “back-to-back” winning the event with 3yo Filly NOTIONS having won the race last year with LOVE TAP. Last year it was won by LOVE TAP and in this year’s renewal, we have promising 3yo filly NOTIONS carrying our colours. Connections are living the dream with a fit, healthy filly with obvious ability and a pedigree that says she gets the trip. NOTIONS is currently a $16 quote.

Progressive four-year-old grey gelding LOVE TAP (TAPIT x SMOKEY’S LOVE) will be chasing a place in one of Australia’s richest races when he tackles the Group 2 Shannon Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on Saturday. One year ago, the flashy grey dominated his opponents in the Group 3 Gloaming stakes. Richard Freedman this week asks more again of Love Tap and if the four-year-old responds he will find himself chasing a monster payday late next month. Love Tap is the $3.10 favourite at TAB Fixed Odds for the Shannon Stakes.

Followers of Dynamic Syndications are aware that we have had a good opinion of the first crop progeny of new sire MERCHANT NAVY – the dual Gr1 Winner who when trained by Ciaron Maher won the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington then Coolmore Stud secured him, and he went to Royal Ascot and won the Diamond Jubilee for Aidan O’Brien. So what did we learn from this morning’s 2yo trials?

Wow - What a Win! As the saying goes: “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Everyone who saw the incredible WIN by our Richard Freedman trained 4yo gelding HIGH SUPREMACY (Savabeel x High Chaparral) acknowledges the win came thanks to the combination of a quality horse matched to the brilliance of jet-pilot Nash Rawiller. Nash was on fire at Royal Randwick grabbing 4 victories, but without doubt, his ride on HIGH SUPREMACY was his most impressive, aided by the ability of his trusty steed beneath him.

Andrew Forsman and Murray Baker produced a promising winner this week by Champion racehorse and sire American Pharoah (USA) when three-year-old filly LADY KOVAL debuted with a terrific win at Cambridge. She led all the way and dug deep to score a tenacious nose win over 1300m.
