Talented American Pharoah (USA) mare Merneith made it back-to-back wins in the $200,000 Group 2 Santa Monica Stakes (1400m) at Santa Anita. It was no surprise to see FANGIRL defeat odds-on and much-vaunted Extreme Choice filly Espiona in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.
